Fluffy Homemade Biscuits
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
3/4 cup whole milk, cold
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Gradually add the cold milk, stirring until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it forms a cohesive ball. Pat the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
Using a biscuit cutter, cut out biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Gather any scraps of dough and repeat until all the dough is used.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.
