Bobby Flay Salisbury Steak
Ingredients:
1 ½ pounds ground beef
½ cup breadcrumbs
¼ cup milk
1 large egg
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon thyme
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and form into 4-6 patties.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add butter and mushrooms. Cook until the mushrooms are tender, about 5 minutes.
In a small bowl, whisk together the beef broth and cornstarch until smooth. Pour the mixture into the skillet with the mushrooms and bring to a simmer.
Return the patties to the skillet and spoon the gravy over them. Add thyme and simmer for another 10 minutes, or until the patties are cooked through and the gravy has thickened.
Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
