Ingredients:
For the Meatloaf:
2 pounds ground beef
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup milk
2 large eggs
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
For the Mac & Cheese:
8 ounces elbow macaroni
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the Topping:
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
Prepare the Mac & Cheese:
Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, until lightly golden.
Gradually whisk in milk and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and black pepper until smooth and creamy. Fold in the cooked macaroni.
Prepare the Meatloaf:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme. Mix until well combined.
On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, shape the meat mixture into a large rectangle.
Assemble the Meatloaf:
Spoon the prepared mac & cheese down the center of the meat rectangle.
