Since Kayla Glines is the first triplet to have quads, she has many reasons to be joyful. Reese, Jameson, Oaklee, and Lincoln were born to 32-year-old Kayla against all odds.

Her amazing story covers more than a decade of hope, patience, despair and finally unbridled joy as her wish for a family with hubby Allen came true. Two years ago she fell pregnant with triplets after fertility treatment. Two of the tots survived but one no more in the womb. A hilarious photo shows the children cuddled up together, evoking memories of Kayla as a baby with her triplet brothers and sisters.

When she conceived again – this time naturally – Kayla was shocked to discover she was about to give birth to four more children. She said: ‘We just couldn’t believe it when I went in for a scan and the doctor told me I was carrying too many embryos. We’ve tried so hard over the years, We were worried to learn how risky a quadrilateral pregnancy could be, but fortunately all babies were born safely.

Kayla and social worker Allen, who live in Salt Lake City, Utah, had already adopted her brother’s two daughters, now eight and six, before they started fertility treatment in 2016.

The quads arrived in March of this year, while two of the triplets were delivered safely in August of last year. The couple now has eight children in all, with six of them under the age of two.

Kayla continued: “Allen and I occasionally find it hard to comprehend what has happened to us. After ten years of trying, we finally have a large family with eight kids and just the two of us!”

So happy with what we have, our family will be happy together. Although I know that there are many difficulties ahead for me and my wife when the children are young. But it is a wish and a gift that has been waiting for many years.
