Texas Toast Sloppy Joes
Ingredients:
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 green bell bell pepper, finely chopped
1 pound ground beef
1 cup tomato sauce
½ cup of ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon of mustard
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
8 slices of Texas Toast
Shredded cheese, for garnish

Directions:
Prepare the mixture for the Sloppy Joe:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onions and green bell pepper until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned and crumbled, breaking it up with a spoon while cooking, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
Prepare the sauce:
Mix tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard and garlic powder to the beef mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer the mixture for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
Prepare the Texas Toast:
While the Sloppy Joe mixture simmers, bake the Texas Toast according to package instructions until golden brown and crisp.
Once the toast is ready, use a spoon to make a well in each piece of garlic bread.
Evenly spread a generous amount of Sloppy Joe mixture into the hollow of each piece of toast.
Top with shredded cheese and bake for another 2 to 3 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
