Homemade Hamburger Helper Lasagna
Ingredients:
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 pound bulk Italian sausage
1 cup onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
3 cups chicken stock
1 (12 oz) box short cut pasta
1 ½ cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions:
1. Sauté Sausage and Onion:
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil, swirling to coat. Add Italian sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the sausage is browned and cooked through, and the onions are tender.
2. Add Garlic and Seasoning:
Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Combine Sauce and Pasta:
Add Italian seasoning, marinara sauce, chicken stock, and pasta to the skillet. Mix until well combined.
4. Simmer:
Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover and reduce the heat to simmer. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
5. Add Cheese:
Sprinkle shredded Mozzarella cheese over the top of the pasta. Cover the skillet and let it sit for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.
6. Garnish and Serve:
Garnish the dish with fresh basil leaves and serve hot.
