Craving something flaky, buttery, and oh-so-delicious? These Cruffins are the perfect treat! A delightful combination of croissants and muffins, they’re filled with a luscious cream and topped with a sprinkle of sweetness. Perfect for breakfast or a special snack! 😍✨

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
1/2 cup cold water
For the Filling:

1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Topping:

Powdered sugar for dusting
Coffee beans or chocolate chips for garnish (optional)


Instructions:

Make the Dough: In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and cut it into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add the cold water and mix until the dough comes together. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Roll and Fold the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough into a large rectangle. Fold the dough into thirds like a letter, then turn it 90 degrees and roll it out again. Repeat this process three more times. After the final fold, wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for another 30 minutes.

Shape the Cruffins: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough into a thin rectangle and cut it into long strips. Roll each strip into a tight coil and place them in a greased muffin tin.

Bake the Cruffins: Bake the cruffins in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky. Let them cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Transfer the whipped cream to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.

Fill and Garnish: Once the cruffins are completely cooled, pipe the whipped cream into the center of each cruffin. Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with coffee beans or chocolate chips if desired.
