Decadent Overnight Crème Brûlée French Toast
Ingredients:
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons corn syrup
1 loaf of French bread, sliced into 1-inch thick slices
5 large eggs
1 1/2 cups half-and-half
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon Grand Marnier or orange liqueur (optional)
1/4 teaspoon salt


Directions:
In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar and corn syrup, stirring until smooth. Pour into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Arrange French bread slices in a single layer over the caramel.
Whisk eggs, half-and-half, vanilla extract, Grand Marnier (if using), and salt in a bowl. Pour over bread, ensuring even coverage. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
