Crispy Orange Cauliflower Bites
Ingredients:
1 large head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup water
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 cup orange juice
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
2 green onions, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a bowl, mix the flour and water to create a batter.
Dip the cauliflower florets into the batter, then coat with breadcrumbs.
Place the breaded cauliflower on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until crispy.
In a saucepan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer.
In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with cold water. Add this mixture to the saucepan, stirring until the sauce thickens.
Toss the baked cauliflower in the orange sauce until well coated.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
