How to start a healthy and balanced diet

To stay healthy, food is essential. Indeed, you have to eat well to be able to keep in shape and to be able to age well. Still, it’s easier said than done. We don’t always know how to eat healthy and what to eat for health and well-being. Find out below some tips that revolve around a healthy and balanced diet.

Limit sugar

Sugar is a food that we eat without necessarily knowing it. In fact, sugar is not limited to that little piece that we pour into our coffee or our tea. All the foods we eat contain sugar: soda can, apple juice, yogurt, etc. Everything contains a certain level of sugar.

You should know that sugar does not bring any nutritional benefit to our body. Indeed, our body naturally produces sugar from the proteins and fats that we consume. In this sense, there is no point in consuming it in large quantities. A glass of fruit juice or sugary drink a day should suffice.

Drink water

Water is life. Our body needs it to be able to survive. When you get this feeling of thirst, it means your body is already dehydrated. Water acts in our body to maintain the internal temperature of our body and to ensure the transit of essential substances for our cells.

You will understand: it is more than important to stay hydrated during the day. To do this, for an adult, two liters of water per day is the minimum. This equates to 6 to 8 glasses of water a day. On the other hand, if you are an athlete or if you are rather active, it is strongly recommended to drink more.

Vary your foods

In order for your body to get all the nutrients it needs, you need to vary the foods you eat. First and foremost, you need to consider your nutritional needs first. These vary according to the age, sex and activities of the person. Once you’ve assessed your nutritional needs, you can determine which foods could provide you with those nutrients.

In this sense, innovate your dishes, try new things, use spices, taste the cuisines of the world. The more you vary what you eat, the more good things you bring to your body. Either way, never force yourself to eat what you don’t like. There are surely a thousand and one alternatives that provide the same nutritional benefits as this “food” that you don’t like.
