Creamy Broccoli Mac and Cheese

Ingredients:
8 ounces medium pasta shells
1 head broccoli, cut into florets
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
Instructions:
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook pasta according to package instructions; drain well.
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic, and cook, stirring frequently, until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
Whisk in flour until lightly browned, about 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk, and cook, whisking constantly, until slightly thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
Remove from heat. Stir in cheese until melted, about 2 minutes; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Stir in pasta and broccoli until well combined, about 3-4 minutes.
Serve immediately, garnished with parsley, if desired.
Notes :
Use freshly grated cheese for the best melting consistency.
Adjust the thickness of the sauce by adding more or less milk.
