Ingredients:

White or vanilla cake mix: 1 box (prepare as directed on the box)
Strawberries: 2 cups, sliced
Cream cheese: 8 ounces (225 grams), softened
Powdered sugar: 1 cup (120 grams)
Whipped cream: 1 cup (240 mL)
Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon (5 mL)
Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder: for garnish
Additional whole strawberries: for topping

Instructions:

Prepare the cake:
Prepare the cake mix according to the package instructions for a 9×13 inch baking dish. Before baking, gently stir in half of the sliced strawberries into the batter to evenly distribute.
Bake according to package directions. Allow the cake to cool completely after baking.

Make the cream cheese layer:
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Gently fold in the whipped cream until well combined.

Assemble the cake:
Once the cake is cool, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top.
Arrange the remaining sliced strawberries over the cream cheese layer.

Chill and serve:
Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to allow the layers to set.
