Savory Garlic Double Steakburger with Cheese
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
4 slices American cheese
4 hamburger buns
2 tablespoons butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles
Directions:
Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
Grill or cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.
While patties are cooking, melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden.
Toast hamburger buns on the grill or skillet until lightly browned.
Assemble burgers: Place a patty with melted cheese on the bottom half of each bun. Top with sautéed garlic and any desired toppings. Cover with the top half of the bun.
Serve immediately.
