Soft Dinner Rolls Recipe
Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
1 cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 large egg
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter, melted (for brushing)
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, sugar, and yeast. Add warm milk and mix until smooth. Cover and let sit for 15 minutes until bubbly.
Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually add remaining flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes until doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter immediately after removing from the oven.
