Savory Ricotta Meatballs in Rich Tomato Sauce
Ingredients:
1 cup ricotta cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups marinara sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
Fresh basil for garnish


Directions:
In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
Add marinara sauce to the skillet, covering the meatballs. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
