Nashville Hot Sauce
Ingredients:
1 cup vegetable oil
3 tablespoons cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions:
In a small saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it is hot but not smoking.
In a heatproof bowl, combine the cayenne pepper, brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Carefully pour the hot oil over the spice mixture. Stir until the ingredients are well combined and the sugar is dissolved.
Let the sauce cool slightly before using.
