Ingredients:

For the Cake:

3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 large eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup hot water

For the Filling:

1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Glaze:

1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon butter

Instructions:

Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 10×15-inch jelly roll pan with parchment paper and grease it lightly.

Make the Cake Batter: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. In a separate large bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until thick and pale. Add the vanilla extract and mix well. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, alternating with hot water, and mix until smooth.

Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared jelly roll pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cake springs back when lightly touched. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.

Roll the Cake: While the cake is still warm, carefully invert it onto a clean kitchen towel dusted with powdered sugar. Remove the parchment paper and roll the cake up in the towel. Let it cool completely.

Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Fill the Cake: Unroll the cooled cake and spread the whipped cream filling evenly over the surface. Roll the cake back up without the towel, and place it seam-side down on a serving platter.

Make the Chocolate Glaze: In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips and butter. Stir until the chocolate is melted and the glaze is smooth.

Glaze the Cake: Pour the chocolate glaze over the rolled cake, letting it drip down the sides. Allow the glaze to set before slicing.
