Homemade Banana Ice Cream

Ingredients:

Sugar (2/3 cup): Adds sweetness and affects the texture.
Eggs (3 large): Act as an emulsifier and help create a smooth consistency.
All-purpose flour (1.5 tablespoon): Helps thicken the custard.
Salt (1/8 tsp): Enhances the overall flavor.
Milk (1 cup): The base liquid for the custard.
Bananas (2 large, ripe): Provide the main flavor and natural sweetness.
Cream (1 1/4 cup): Gives the ice cream its rich and creamy texture.
Vanilla (1 tsp): Adds depth to the flavor.
Optional add-ins (such as 1/2 cup toasted walnut pieces or crumbled graham crackers): Add texture and flavor variations.

Instructions:

Prepare the Custard Base: In a mixing bowl, beat the sugar into the eggs until light and fluffy. Mix in the flour.
Heat the Milk: Bring the milk to a simmer in a saucepan.
Combine and Cook: Gradually beat the hot milk into the egg mixture. Return the mixture to the pan, add salt, and cook over low heat until it thickens, stirring constantly. Avoid boiling.
Puree the Bananas: Puree the bananas in a food processor, adding a bit of cream if necessary.
Mix and Chill: Stir the banana puree, remaining cream, and vanilla into the custard. Cover and refrigerate until chilled.
Churn: Process the mixture in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Add Extras and Freeze: After the ice cream is churned, you can add optional ingredients like nuts or graham crackers. Then, transfer it to a container and freeze until it reaches the desired consistency.
