Ingredients
For the Tuna Steaks:

4 tuna steaks (about 6 oz each)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Capers and Tomatoes:

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
2 tablespoons capers, drained and rinsed
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh basil leaves, chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon dried basil)
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and black pepper, to taste

For Garnish:

Fresh basil leaves
Lemon wedges
Instructions
Prepare the Tuna Steaks:

Marinate Tuna: In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons olive oil, lemon juice, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Brush the tuna steaks with the marinade and let them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
Prepare the Capers and Tomatoes:

Sauté Ingredients: In a medium skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add Tomatoes and Capers: Add the halved cherry tomatoes and capers to the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes begin to soften.
Season: Stir in the fresh basil, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Grill the Tuna Steaks:

Preheat Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
Grill Tuna: Place the tuna steaks on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer a more well-done steak. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare.
Rest Tuna: Remove the tuna steaks from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
Serve:

Plate: Place the grilled tuna steaks on serving plates.
Top with Sauce: Spoon the caper and tomato mixture over the tuna steaks.
Garnish: Garnish with fresh basil leaves and lemon wedges.
Enjoy: Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes, such as a fresh salad or grilled vegetables.
Tips:
Grilling Tuna: Tuna steaks are best grilled to medium-rare for a tender, juicy texture. If you prefer them more well-done, adjust the cooking time accordingly.
Marinade: If you have more time, marinate the tuna steaks for up to 30 minutes in the refrigerator for extra flavor.
Tomato Mixture: You can make the tomato and caper mixture ahead of time and reheat it gently before serving.
This Grilled Tuna Steaks with Capers and Tomatoes dish is fresh and flavorful, combining the rich taste of tuna with the bright, tangy notes of tomatoes and capers. Enjoy!
