Delightful Cherry Danish Bites

Ingredients:

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup cherry pie filling
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Powdered sugar for dusting


Directions:

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 12 equal squares.
In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Place a small dollop of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each puff pastry square.
Top the cream cheese with a spoonful of cherry pie filling.
Fold the corners of each square towards the center to create a pinwheel shape, and press gently to seal.
Brush the tops of the pastry with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish.
Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
Let the danishes cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
